Demolition in Mackay: house, partial, asbestos-aware and site clearing
Mackay demolition follows Queensland rules, and the tropics. High-set timber Queenslanders, post-war fibro homes, cyclone-damaged sheds and Paget workshops each need a different plan. A private certifier, licensed asbestos removal and a wet-season-aware program are part of almost every job.
Mackay Demolition Service is a referral service. Tell us about your job, and with your consent we pass it to an independent demolition business that holds the registration and licences the work requires. We do not demolish buildings, and we do not set prices. Our phone line goes to voicemail, and every enquiry gets a reply.

Approvals in brief
In Queensland, a private building certifier issues the demolition approval; Mackay Regional Council does not certify building work. Asbestos is governed by the WHS Regulation, and higher-risk demolition by WHS licensing and Workplace Health and Safety Queensland notification. Heritage-listed places need extra approval. Our demolition permits guide explains each step.
What it may cost
Published 2026 guides give broad ranges, which are set out in our demolition cost guide. Every job is priced by the contractor after an inspection.
How a referral works
- You send the address, photos and timing.
- We check that the job is in scope, and ask for your consent to share your details.
- A registered Mackay-area demolisher contacts you to inspect and quote.
- You decide whether to go ahead. Your contract is with them.
